The After School Program (ASP) at the Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church is a nondenominational program for children in grades K - 8 designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for after school study, play, social development, and personal growth.

The ASP is open every day that the North Plainfield schools are in session. This state licensed program has several experienced staff members with a staff:child ratio of 1:8. Program oversight is by the Session of the Watchung Avenue Presbyterian Church. Children are cared for with love, acceptance, and compassion while learning the value of respect, social interactions, and responsibility. A daily schedule is followed which includes nutricious snack, homework help, Fun Fridays, club activities and recreation, computer activities, many enrichment activities (drama, dance, free play) as well as trips, dinners, and speakers.

Fees are set based on total days in the school year. Children are able to enroll for three, four, or five days per week with or without transportation from schools in North Plainfield to the church. Children must be picked up promptly by 6:00 p.m. each day.

Some special programs will require an additional fee per child. Discounts on tuition are available for families with more than one child attending. However, there are no discounts for sick days or family trips. Half-day child care is available for $4 per hour per child on days that schools close early. A non-refundable registration fee of $50.00 per child is required at the time of registration. The yearly fee is divided into 10 equal monthly payments. The fee schedule is as follows:
