Worship is the heart of what we do together at WAPC—it is the fuel for the rest of our week, and it is our praise of God that leads us forward into mission and ministry.    Our congregation gathers together for worship at 10am every Sunday along with other special days during the year:

  • Ecumenical Sunday—A special Sunday usually in late January—shared worship with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in North Plainfield
  • Ash Wednesday—Evening Worship
  • Maundy Thursday—Evening Worship (Thursday of Holy Week)
  • Good Friday—Evening Worship (Friday of Holy Week)
  • 1st Sunday of May—Joint Worship (rotating) with North Plainfield/Plainfield Presbyterian Congregations
  • In August of each year we combine for two Sundays for worship with Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church
  • Thanksgiving Week—Ecumenical Worship (rotating) among North Plainfield congregations
  • Two Christmas Eve Candlelight services, one especially for families with children and the second with music and communion.  
  • Other special days that come up during the year!

Our worship service is a relaxed, joyful, and thoughtful hour of reflection rooted in the Reformed Tradition.   We blend various styles of music and liturgy, value participation and laughter, and are always willing to try new things.  Worship is not static-it is a reflection of our welcoming and faithful community.

Visitors and guests are welcome at all worship services.  If you are visiting us, please do fill out the visitor card in the pew rack in front of you so that the Pastor can reach out in welcome to you during the week.   Ask of our greeters after worship for information about the church or stop by our Welcome Table in our Mission Room (the room you walk through on the way to the Parish Hall for snacks!)

Childcare is offered alongside worship, and church school is at the same hour.

Worship is followed every Sunday by a time of fellowship in our Parish Hall.
